I am a Air Force ROTC cadet and I will be commissioning as a 2Lt in May. Recently I went to a conference and bought a KIA bracelet. I am wearing the KIA bracelet that has Staff SGT Jason Hicks name on it. I never knew him but I will always remember and honor him. I never take the bracelet off and where ever I go in my career and life I will bring him with me. God Bless

Today the nation honors you along with all of our other fallen heroes that have paid the price for us to live freely and educate openly. Jason, I've thought about you all weekend. I couldn't let this Memorial Day end without leaving you a message. I miss you so much and will be forever grateful for our friendship! Carter hears a lot about his “uncle Jason” that’s in Heaven. He say’s “God Bless our Troops” when he sees an American Flag and I always remind him that you were one of our troops that died protecting us. You took care of me through high school and gave your life taking care of others. You are my HERO! I love you and miss you!

I left you a message last night when I couldn’t sleep but I needed to feel closer to you again today. We always celebrated our birthdays together and it just hasn't been the same since you were taken from us. Tomorrow is my Big 3-0 and I know you would be giving me a hard time about getting old.
